About Shirin


Shirin Zarqa-Lederman is a wife and mother of five children. Shirin lives in New Jersey with her family, where she was born and raised. In addition to her own private practice, Shirin has authored an award winning children's book series - The Trotters of Tweeville.

Prior to her private practice Shirin was the Program Coordinator for the Adolescent Substance Abuse Unit at Princeton House - a Division of the Medical Center at Princeton.  Shirin spent seven years at Princeton House where she started as a Mental Health Assistant (MHA) during which time she facilitated both individual and group therapy for the inpatient co-ed facility.

In October of 2015 Shirin was nominated and awarded the Distinguished Alumna of the Year Award from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she earned her MS in Child and Adolescent Psychology.

Shirin earned her MA in Communication & Information Studies in 2000 from Rutgers University.  Soon after she received her LCADC from the State of New Jersey.


In 2010 Shirin earned her MS in Child & Adolescent Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.


After earning her Masters from TCSPP Shirin passed the National Counselors Exam and earned her LPC from the State of New Jersey.

Most recently Shirin completed the requirements for her doctorate in International Psychology and earned her PhD in International Psychology with a focus on Trauma.
